07/12/2015 · The TEW-827DRU router I received is lacking features that I saw in the PCMag review. So I did some investigating. I now know that the PCMag review was of "Version v1.0R" of the TEW-827DRU router. That version is discontinued, and I got a Version v2.0R unit. Here's what v2 is lacking: it does not have StreamBoost™, no WiFi On/Off button, no LED On/Off button and only one USB 3.0 port. However, if I configure my router, a Trendnet TEW-827DRU, to use it for its DNS it does not work. I configured the IP address of the box to both the primary and secondary DNS servers in the WAN settings but even with that set (and the router rebooted AND the DHCP lease released and renewed and the DNS server confirmed as configured in the web interface for the router) it seems to be using TRENDnet AC1750 Dual Band Wireless AC Gigabit Router, 2.4GHz 450Mbps, 5Ghz 1300Mbps, 2 USB Port, IPv6, for DD-WRT, TEW-824DRU 3.7 out of 5 stars 1,012 $219.28 $ 219. 28 + $5.47 shipping
